Profile
A Career in Entertainment
Alan Gold, a leader in the entertainment industry, is a top packager and producer, an exceptionally successful agent and a highly regarded consultant. Functioning in all areas of the entertainment field, Gold is truly an entertainment pioneer in the “Old Hollywood” sense. Founding Alan Gold Talent in 1988, he heads one of the top multi-tiered, vertically integrated operations in the entertainment world.
Known for having a keen eye for comic talent, Gold was savvy enough to sign and develop such outstanding talents as Bert Croyer, Marty Hinkins, Rip Adams and Beatrice Hogarth.
Background
From New York to Los Angeles
A New Yorker, Gold first came into contact with show business through his uncle, Ira Gold, a circus promoter and talent agent. Following graduation from New York University, he landed his first industry job working in the William Morris mailroom. Remaining with the agency for nine years, Gold left to join Envision Talent, where he continued to specialize in talent representation.
Shortly thereafter, Gold moved to Los Angeles to open a West Coast office of Envision Talent. Realizing that he had no chance at the “big name” stars, he decided to sign writers, producers and directors as a means of survival. As many of his clients rose to television stardom, Gold became a packager and in 1988, Alan Gold Talent was launched.
